The Ytsejam Mailing List
The Ytsejam Mailing List is the oldest source of Dream Theater information on the Internet. The list has been around since 1992 (maybe 1993). Over time it has lived on a number of different servers and has had different addresses. It started off as ytsejam@arastar.com, moved to ytsejam@ax.com and now lives at ytsejam@torchsong.com.The list was originally run by Ken Bibb. Ken handed the list over to the current maintainer Ryan Skadberg in early 1996.
Subscribing to the Ytsejam
In order to join the Ytsejam mailing list you need to send mail to:
with the subject: asdf
In the body of the message type:
subscribe ytsejam Your Name
Change the Your Name from the example above to your actual name (eg John Doe).
You should recieve a confirmation of your subscription within 24 hours. If you do not, please contact the Ytsejam Maintainer at ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com.
UnSubscribing from the Ytsejam
In order to remove youself from the Ytsejam mailing list you will need to send mail from the address you are subscribed with to:
with the subject: asdf
In the body of the message type:
unsubscribe ytsejam
You should recieve a confirmation of your removal from the list within 24 hours. If you do not, please contact the Ytsejam Maintainer at ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com.
Changing Receiving Mode from ACK to Digest
In order to start receiving a daily digest of posts instead of individual posts you need to do the following:
with the subject: asdf
In the body of the message type:
set ytsejam mail digest
You should recieve a confirmation of the change within 24 hours. If you do not, please contact the Ytsejam Maintainer at ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com.
Changing Receiving Mode from Digest to ACK
In order to start receiving individual posts instad of a daily digest, you need to do the following:

In the body of the message type:
set ytsejam mail ack
You should recieve a confirmation of the change within 24 hours. If you do not, please contact the Ytsejam Maintainer at ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com.
Sending Mail to the Ytsejam Mailing List
To send mail to the Ytsejam Mailing list, all you need to do is send mail to ytsejam@torchsong.com from an address that is subscribed to the list. You will not be able to send mail to the list if your address is unsubscribed. If you for some reason need to be sending mail to the list from more than one address, but do not want to subscribe from multiple addresses, please contact the Ytsejam Maintainer at ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com.
Filtering of Messages to the Ytsejam Mailing List
There is a filter on the mailing list to prevent SPAM from coming on to the list. Please see The Ytsejam Mailing List Filter Page to get more information on this.
